**An Update on Culture for Berlin**
**A Blank Canvas for 1—06**
Next Saturday, August 24th, we invite you on a journey through historical architecture while opening a dialogue between our generations that connect and remember the forces that have changed histories and will continue to do so. These emotions drive people and collectives to achieve greatness, overcome systems and inspire revolution. In times like this, we want to remember and force those emotions even further and give space for everything that is part of it.
A day of intimate performances, our exhibition journey, transition in to on of our legendary 1-06 Aftershow partys.
ACT I: IN BETWEEN SPACES
Our first exhibition 2024 „In-Between-Spaces,“ set in a historical theatre, explores Berlin’s dynamic history and cultural transformation through the adaptive re-use of vacant buildings. After the reunification, young creatives in East Berlin transformed empty spaces into artistic hubs like galleries, studios, and clubs, thus epitomizing artistic freedom and innovation.
The exhibition addresses themes of identity, belonging and transformation, highlighting Berlin’s evolution as an art metropolis. It combines history and modernity to revitalize the spirit of the city through artistic expression and human relationships. We are aiming to recall and re-interpret these history shaping forces as our leitmotif in steady continuation
UNDER (DE) CONSTRUCTION
Our approach to design is rooted in the mindful restoration of historical architectures going to be animated by immersive, interactive experiences and dynamic processes instead of merely showcasing final outcomes.
We seek to capture and honor the historical essence of spaces by recreating them. In embracing our concept „Created To Be Destroyed,“ we perceive everything as existing in a continuous state of (De)Construction. Consequently, our collaboration on this project within this venue is intentionally constrained to an intense, transformative period of the next few months.
